The Africa Quadrennial Training and Legal Forum of the United Methodist Church has officially concluded at Africa University in Zimbabwe, with participants returning to their respective countries inspired, informed, grounded in stewardship and in the ongoing process of Regionalisation.

The two-day gathering brought together bishops, conference chancellors, secretaries, treasurers, directors of communications, and other key leaders from various African Episcopal Areas. The event served as a platform for training, legal education, and experience sharing, with a strong emphasis on unity, leadership, and the evolving structure of the global United Methodist Church.

Speaking at the closing session, Bishop Gaspar Domingos of the Angola West Episcopal Area delivered a stirring message titled “Do Not Be Distracted.”

Bishop Domingos cautioned United Methodists to remain focused and not be swayed by misinformation or external voices seeking to disrupt the Church’s mission.

> “Do not be distracted by the noise around us, especially from those who want to misinform people about the United Methodist Church,” he said. “You have been called by God to serve. Return to your countries with a fixed mind and a clear commitment to do the work God has entrusted you.”

Throughout the forum, participants engaged in rich conversations, legal briefings, and contextual sharing from different parts of the continent. The sessions provided clarity on the implications of Regionalisation, strengthened legal and administrative understanding, and fostered a sense of unity and shared purpose among African church leaders.

As the gathering ended, there was a strong sense of hope and collective commitment to the future of the United Methodist Church in Africa.
