On Sunday, 3rd August 2025, Bishop James Boye-Caulker inducted the Reverend Henry Gina Macavoray into dual roles: District Superintendent of the Kenema District and Pastor in Charge of Kercher Memorial United Methodist Church.

Mr. Dambo, Kenema District Lay Leader, expressed gratitude to Bishop James Boye-Caulker for Rev. Henry Gina Macavoray’s appointment. He assured the Bishop of the district’s “*utmost support*” for Rev. Henry Gina Macavoray, pledging to help him succeed in his spiritual leadership across both the district and the local church.

The Council Chairman of Kercher Memorial United Methodist Church also thanked the Bishop for the appointment of Rev. Henry Gina Macavoray as a District Superintendent of Kenema District and Pastor in Charge of Kercher Memorial United Methodist Church. He echoed the commitment of support for Rev. Henry Gina Macavoray and encouraged church members to foster unity, embrace one another, and work in love and peace, emphasizing that “the strength of the church lies on those three elements.”

In his address to the congregation, Bishop James Boye-Caulker referenced Jeremiah 1:4-7, highlighting its significance for ordained leaders. He drew a distinction between power and authority, describing power as something that can lead to pride, disobedience, and feeling superior, while true authority is “leadership of God given to man to carry on His service in humility, obedience, patience, and courage.”

The Bishop encouraged all church members, especially leaders, to demonstrate integrity and accountability. He emphasized that “the calling of Christ is a call of servantship.”

Concluding his remarks, Bishop James Boye-Caulker admonished Rev. Henry Gina Macavoray to rely on God’s authority, be strong, and courageous in his service. He acknowledged the challenges ahead, including critics, but urged the newly inducted leader to “be courageous, embrace everyone, and to love the critics more” during difficult times.
